Why join AMCS as a Municipal / Public Sector Strategic Account Executive
AMCS is seeking to expand its offerings into the North American municipal sector. We're looking for a highly motivated Strategic Account Executive – Team Lead to take on a player-coach who has strong municipal knowledge and experience building relationships with key decision makers to evangelise Sustainability Software Solutions. As a key player in our Public Sector sales team, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a presence within prospective municipal customer accounts. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about the customer's experience and the AMCS mission. We currently have hundreds of municipal customers across our product portfolio, and we have developed a range of solutions for the municipal sector: from fleet maintenance to a robust ERP product suite. AMCS is seeking an individual who has a deep understanding of selling complex software solutions into municipal end markets and a proven ability to close deals in this space.
Here's what you'll do:
Prospect with a "hunter" mentality via phone, internet, fieldwork, referrals, and industry networking.
Independently identify and generate new sales opportunities within the municipal/public sector while leading a team of 2 Account Executives dedicated to this new market segment.
Provide sales strategy and coaching to the sales team on best practices for prospecting, solution selling, and managing long sales cycles typical of municipalities and public sector.
Facilitate face-to-face meetings, present proposals and solutions, close business on the phone, zoom or in person (if/when the environment allows)
Lead and support the team in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other procurement documentation required in the public sector.
Collaborate internally with team on pricing strategy and account implementation plans.
Establish credit terms with clients in coordination with company goals and directives.
Manage individual and team sales funnel information regarding all prospective customers in the required format.
Sell AMCS's core suite of Platform services into municipalities and public sector.
Review weekly/monthly sales activities and prospective customers with Management.
Engaging in self-development & training opportunities, both internal & external
Reports to VP of Sales North America
About You:
You have direct experience selling complex software solutions into municipal/public sector end markets.
You have 7+ years of experience meeting or exceeding annual quotas ranging from $2M-$4M in revenue.
You have previous management or team lead experience and be comfortable wearing multiple hats as needed to get the job done.
You are comfortable "self-starting" and telling the business what you need from it in order to be successful.
You know how to navigate complex buying dynamics in local government and can lead competitive pursuits.
You have specific experience leading RFP pursuits and/or leveraging channel partners to effectively win deals in the public sector.
