Role Description
AMCS is looking for a Regional Statutory Accountant to join the Finance team in the EMEA region (based in Germany). In this role, you will be expected to coordinate and monitor the financial and accounting activities for Germany and its associated subsidiaries in other parts of Europe.
You will work closely with the shared services teams in Ireland and the Philippines to drive global improvement whilst leveraging your experience and best practice principles. The role will serve as the key connector between the region and other finance functions to ensure alignment of financial strategies and practices.
As part of the Global Finance Team, the role is reporting to the Group Financial Controller in Ireland.
Financial reporting and compliance
Ø Support monthly financial reporting, ensuring timeliness and accuracy to facilitate the preparation of consolidated financial results.
Ø Complete balance sheet reconciliations for statutory reporting account codes.
Ø Proactively oversee and manage inquiries from local business partners, authorities, and government agencies.
Financial guidance and analysis
Ø Provide practical guidance on local accounting practices/standards while reviewing and enforcing adherence to internal policies and finance standard.
Ø Working with the wider finance team to develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures to mitigate risks and enhance the efficiency of financial operations.
Ø Act as a Single Point of Contact for regional financial escalations.
Ø Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
Ø Alongside the Regional Finance Business Partner, conduct regular meetings with all stakeholders to review finance and operational topics and discuss operational issues.
Ø Promote culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Audits
Ø Complete the local statutory reporting requirements for the Group's subsidiaries in EMEA, primarily Germany.
Ø Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors (alongside share service teams in Ireland and the Philippines).
Ø Oversee the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
Ø Liaise with internal finance business partners and external advisers on the completion of all ad hoc statutory accounting related queries.
Requirements
Ø Professional accounting qualification with 2 years post qualified experience.
Ø Strong technical experience of accounting items including German GAAP.
Ø Familiar with international accounting standards and principles including IFRS & FRS102.
Ø Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience with Oracle/Netsuite an advantage.
Ø Flexible approach and adaptable to a changing working environment.
Ø Ability to find innovative solutions, lead change and drive continuous improvements.
Ø Experience in the Software / SaaS industry is an advantage.
Ø Fluent in English and German
