about the customer

RWS was founded in 2009 by family-centric entrepreneurs. Over nearly the past two decades, RWS has taken its simple roll-off business to new heights. Now, as a multi-branch transfer/industrial waste hauler, the company is delivering comprehensive waste and recycling services across North America.

When Scott and Ryan, cousins in the Stansley family, took over RWS three years ago, growth was their number one goal. In order to satisfy customer and employee expectations along with keeping wheels on the road, efficiency was of the essence.

"Before adopting AMCS Bulk Hauling, which we did when it was known as the Qv21 TMS, we operated with a system that we had outgrown. After numerous workarounds and malfunctions, we began hunting for a better solution,” says Ryan. “The AMCS platform was exactly what we were looking for; it would bring us to a new era of business.”

the challenges

When the AMCS team met with Scott and Ryan, one of the first issues apparent was the disconnection between the capabilities of the solution they were using and the requirements of a rapidly growing business. Due to system limitations, the RWS team could not track essential metrics like tonnage, man hours, and cycle times.

RWS's legacy solution was no longer an enabler for the business, but had become a barrier to the company's logistics operations. It was clear that the team needed a new level of quality, insight, and integration to monitor and continuously improve its daily operations.

Within just three months of the initial discovery sessions, RWS went live with AMCS Bulk Hauling. The barriers to seamless efficiency in logistics were removed.

the outcomes

“Right now, we are most focused on safety, service, and savings,” says Scott. “Although we are in growth mode, it's different. We have a well-established team, the right people in place, and a strong TMS that dials in the key competency of running a trucking business. That means KPIs, focusing on getting back to the basics of service, and a larger RWS network of support.”
