  • Key Feature Highlights and Customer Business Value

The Winter 2024 Release demonstrates our continued commitment to a digital transformation that drives both improved business performance and sustainability outcomes for our customers.

the three key themes that the Winter 2024 Release reflects are:
1.

Advancing Sustainable Cities & Communities – Launch of AMCS Platform for Residential Services & Green Fleet Automation

2.

Automating the Circular Economy and Advanced Recycling

3.

Sustainability that delivers business value beyond compliance

theme 1 delivering sustainable cities & communities – global launch of AMCS Platform for Residential Services

AMCS Platform for Municipalities is a new comprehensive solution that enables municipalities and their service partners to automate and digitize every aspect of their operations in providing waste and recycling services to residents, from onboarding and service definition to service delivery and management. Future releases will also be used by private haulers to service their base of residential direct subscribers.

It represents a purpose-built solution for municipal and residential services, built on the strong technology foundation of the AMCS Platform and designed to drive greater efficiency, service, and sustainable outcomes for operators.

key features
service package definition

The new service Package concept allows the operator to bundle service types such as door to door (curb side) services, shared public containers, bulky and mobile collections, and recycling centre visits etc., into a standardized service package for an operational area and a building type.

container management

This module provides real-time control and insight into all dimensions of container inventory. This data includes count of containers by size, types, location, service activity and availability for deployment.

master route management

The Master Route Management Module (MRM) is designed to plan, and sequence stops on a master route. A new municipal concept for MRM is a route street segment, designed to simplify route planning for high density areas. It divides a route into multiple segments based on the nearest streets to the stop locations. Planners can plan street segments instead of individual stops, saving time and effort to plan and sequence master routes.

service delivery (logistics)

The solution provides a suite of integrated transport modules that have been purpose built for use for municipal and residential operations to automate the planning, optimization, execution, and validation of all collection routes.

rostering

There is a new resource management calendar to allow the planner to record and track the availability and absence of both staff (drivers and helpers) and vehicles for route shifts.

account on boarding

There is a new automated function to bulk load new account data (properties on to the system and this data can be sourced from multiple sources such as tax systems and property registrars.

business value/benefits of the AMCS Platform for Residential Services

  • Purpose built for Residential Services: Designed from the ground up for Municipalities, built on the foundations of the Platform and leveraging our 30 years of experience in this sector. This is reflected in new features such as support for service package definition, new service types (recycling centres, shared containers etc.), route segments, driver resource management etc.
  • End to End Solution: Our goal is to provide the most complete solution to support integrated, automated, and optimized process manage-ment across the operations, eliminating any disjointed processes and minimizing the complexities of a multi-vendor solution. Our scope includes onboarding and service definition, service delivery and logistics and all aspects of service management.
  • Automation at Scale: We are delivering superior automation across all the operations with superior user experience and processes and workflows to run operations fast and lean. This is particularly important given the large datasets (high numbers of residents, containers, service types and materials). This automation delivers great user experiences that reduces administration overhead for operators and maximizes self-service for residents.
  • Agility as Standard: We are providing Municipalities with increased responsiveness to market and customer demands and business opportunities as they design, standardize, and customize new service package types.

theme 2 advancing recycling and the circular economy

New Recycling and Circular Economy Innovations including:

  • Trading-centric automation for material sales, purchases, brokerage and export
  • Material sampling to support Extended Producer Responsibility legislation
  • Digital trade payments processing for both material purchases and sales
  • Extended supply chain administration automation including notifications and documentation (e.g. Annex VII)

key features

  • Vision AI Enhancement for Larger Containers service by REL: Vision AI support for detecting exceptions has been extended from Front End and Side Loaders to now include Rear End Loader support for larger containers. For larger containers serviced by REL vehicles , multiple images from different angles need to be captured for each load to allow the AI engine to score and detect exceptions such as contamination.
  • Vision AI QR capability reading to support faster time to value: Customers can now create QR codes that can be affixed to containers with these codes containing the customer ID, address, waste type etc. Vision AI reads these QR codes and links any detected exception such as contamination to individual customers.
  • AMCS Fleet Maintenance Integration with Lubricant Analysis: With purpose-built automation, we are making it easier for fleet managers to schedule lubricant sampling and analysis results into their daily preventive maintenance schedules and workflows.
  • New Weekly Workboard: A new Weekly Workboard provides traders with a single, intuitive view on real-time status on all material buy and sell order activities where insights allow them to take quick actions to support efficient order fulfilment.
  • Outbound Weight Specifications: A new feature also allows the specification of outbound load weights by material, vehicle, and container type to support the efficient loading of outbound jobs.
  • AMCS Pay – Digitalization of Supplier Disbursements: Recyclers can pay suppliers for material with conventional methods such as cash, cash at an EZcash ATM, check as well as anew range of real-time digital payment channels such as paying to debit card, pre-paid credit cards and a variety of digital wallets.
  • Immediate and Deferred Pay: Pay Multiple Invoices at once.Cashiers can now pay suppliers for materials received and multiple invoices can now be settled in a single payment transaction either immediately or on a deferred (e.g. weekly basis).
  • EPR Sampling Support: Our new EPR sampling automation allows operators to configure inspection rules for both in and outbound materials based on the outlet, material type, service type and customer as well as thresholds based on number of jobs or accumulated weight.

At PSSI, we are always looking for innovation to add value to our services for our customers and deliver on our shared mission of sustainability.

AMCS Vision AI will improve the quality of recyclables collected, allowing us to work with our end clients to educate and advise them on improving the material that they are presenting and avoiding contaminants.
