Challenge

Providing water and wastewater facilities in 12 different states means CSWR owns multiple small water systems across several states. It employs private contractors to handle maintenance in each locale, which means organising maintenance efficiently is key to delivering a cost-effective service.

Previously, CSWR was using another maintenance management system along with Excel spreadsheets, but distributing work schedules and responding to situations on the fly was difficult, often involving multiple calls with engineers in the field.

Solution

Using the AMSC Field Services cloud-based software, CSWR can assign permissions across different contractors, giving each party the data and digital resources they need to do their job. This allows CSWR to track assets and work done with an in-built audit trail of maintenance performed.

According to Kaleb Stephens, environmental health and safety auditor at CSWR, one of the best features is the mapping function, showing where every asset is across different states.

Not only that, it’s easy to use in the field. Now contractors have the ability to generate work orders in the field. This helped CSWR to streamline its customer service and respond faster to emergency situations, increasing customer satisfaction.
